While the season started on a high note with two awesome first Grand Prix, the 2016 Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship had to face the cancelation of the Italian round originally scheduled on Saturday, January 16th in the Mediolanum Forum in Milano.
After tough times and a huge work, ABC Communication with the cooperation of the FIM, have finalized the replacement of this round. Indeed, the sixth and last stage will be held in Madrid on Saturday, March 19th. The Bullring in Las Rozas has been selected to welcome the Finale of this tremendous season!
This crazy bet was raised thanks to local promoter “The 5 Elements”, organizers of the SuperEnduro Spanish Cup. They are really looking to celebrate the return of the SuperEnduro World Championship in the Iberian Peninsula! Note also that a round of the SEWC Women Cup will be part of the show. It will be the second date of the Women calendar after Czech Grand Prix. Maria FRANKE (D – Yamaha), Emma BRISTOW (GB – Sherco), Sandra GOMEZ (E – Husqvarna) and Jane DANIELS (GB – Husqvarna) have already announce their participation.
It’s 100% sure; Madrid should really appreciate this SEWC comeback on its land after more than seven years of absence!

“It is with great disappointment that I made a decision to withdraw from the championship. Following my crash in Riesa, I have a few small injuries and I am very glad they are not serious. But there is simply no point in me racing SuperEnduro injured because the level is so high and I want to give 100% to put on a great show and get the result I deserve!” It’s with these words that “2015 Rookie of the Year” Paul BOLTON (GB – KTM) has announced his withdrawal from the championship after a huge crash during the first heat of the German GP, despite an awesome time in SuperPole.
But as we say: “The misfortune of some makes the happiness of others!” So, it is Kevin ROOKSTOOL (USA – Sherco) who will replace the Brits in Grading List! Actually 11th overall, the US Ironman will have the privilege to be directly qualified for the main event without going through the qualifications… Very fast, the Sherco rider proved on some heats that he has what it takes to come and fight for a Top 5 spot in the Prestige class and this direct qualification should take away this pressure that plays him tricks sometimes.
Even if Paul BOLTON withdrawal is sad, the Grading List level will not weaken with the arrival ofKevin ROOKSTOOL who’s the 5th representative of the Stars and Stripes in SuperEnduro !
