Steve Holcombe gets the Double in EnduroGP Sweeden

Finally … the smile was largely returned on the faces of drivers World Championship Maxxis FIM EnduroGP this morning toEnkoping (Sweden) when they discovered a beautiful blue sky and a bright sun by leaving their respective hotels … Yet the first day was largely decimated the ‘parc ferme’, since good twenty pilots remained docked this morning, exhausted by the efforts of the previous day, and 85 “survivors” were far from imagining that the last day ” Scandinavian tour “would be too exhausting and where thousands of spectators had a great time!

Indeed 60 kilometers from the Swedish route proved more difficult than the day before with trajectories increasingly deep and changing as the track was drying out in … ” We always had feet off the footrests at the links and those it really did waste. It was exhausting! “Confessed Christophe NAMBOTIN (F-KTM) on arrival (He finished 10th in EnduroGP and 5th in E2).

Skimming is also made from the back with many dropouts as those of Gianluca Martini (I – Kawasaki) who was suffering too injured his wrist in Finland or to Victor GUERRERO (ESP – KTM) on engine trouble. It must be said that the pace at the head of the race was all of infernal more … The fault mainly to Steve HOLCOMBE (GB – Beta) again unleashed and is imposed in all special Extremes but twice in the “terrible” test Enduro 3 … ” I fell twice in the final” line “and I really gave everything in the last lap to keep my advantage because I knew that behind Matthew Phillips (AUS – Sherco) grew very strong. I was really tap into my reserves this victory and this first double career makes me very happy and also reward all the work of Team Beta managed by Fabrizio DINI “Leading from start to finish, HOLCOMBE lost big in effect during this double fall and will maintain large 3 seconds ahead (over 1 hour 04 flat!) on the Championship leader.

The “big” Johnny Aubert!

If HOLCOMBE was in Enköping the “king” of Technomousse Extreme Test and Enduro Test, the surprise of the day came we aJohnny AUBERT (F – Beta) shaped “avionesque” and that made the Maxxis Cross Test, the garden ! Beta Both drivers fought an incredible battle for two-thirds of the race and decimated the pack of pursuers … ” Yet I am disappointed because today I could really go for the win in EnduroGP . But I never found the right feeling and the right grip in the special extreme, especially in the last two rounds, and that’s where I lost the race. Anyway still happy with this podium. “Third EnduroGP , Johnny’Au fails in fact only 4 and a half seconds of HOLCOMBE and less than half a second of a Matthew Phillips angels …” I am very satisfied with second place although the gap with Steve is low. I have not done a very good first lap but I tried to feed me well and drink plenty throughout the day. That paid at the end of race. And tackle Spain with a small margin of 8 points ahead of Eero Remes is not displease me!

For indeed, Eero Remes (SF – TM) today was a little more trouble, especially in the cross test where he fell and also lost valuable seconds. But his fifth of the day however is not against a performance given the quality of the field and the intense battle raging there.Like yesterday, Nathan Watson (GB – KTM) ends with a bang, and catches the final 4th position and was the only one to “steal” a time to Beta “boys” in the Enduro Test 3 … ” I fell hard in the first Enduro Test and then I collected the scrap in association! This must be the craft that goes by … but I’m against love to end the winning streak of Eero Remes in E1 ! “

Long 6th, Mathias BELLINO (F – Husqvarna) was still well beaten today. Unfortunately a “stupid” fall in the penultimate turn of the last Cross will test the downgrade in 9th EnduroGP the benefit of opportunistic Cristobal GUERRERO (ESP – Yamaha)  8th and always regular, a toxic MONNI Manuel (I – TM) very good 7th and the official KTM friendly, Taylor ROBERT (USA) , 6th and confessed that we be happy to finish this Scandinavian tour “so hard”!

Flu since Thursday, Loïc Larrieu (F – Yamaha Outsiders) too fell in the first round to hope better than eleventh place EnduroGP but proved the day before its potential. He ended just ahead of compatriot Antoine BASSET (F – KTM) who held onto throughout the day.

Nathan WATSON winner in E1!

Eero Remes is down from its pedestal in E1 after nine consecutive victories blamed a Nathan Watson who says to each GP. Pascal Rauchenecker (AUT – Husqvarna) cap for less than a second Ivan CERVANTES (ESP – KTM) to the last step of the podium whileMikael Persson (S – Yam) score his best result of the season (5th) in front of his public.

New indisputable victory in E2 for Matthew Phillips to Taylor ROBERT and  Cristobal GUERRERO . BELLINO is 4th …

Despite his immense talent, Johnny Aubert will struggle to stem the incredible rise of Steve HOLCOMBE E3 where MONNI Manuel (I – TM) ., 3rd, continues to enjoy the small team TM Antoine Basset is 4th before Jonathan BARRAGAN ( E – Gas Gas) .

Unless disaster Giacomo REDONDI (I – Honda Red Motorcycle) will finally titled World Champion Juniors this season. He signs a 10th consecutive victory and is able to score the “grand slam”. His two main rivals of the day were the Swedish Albin ELOWSON (S – Husqvarna) and Finland Henric Stigell (TM) which also climb on the “box”. SORECA (I – Honda) or VENTURA (P -Gas Gas) were too irregular to prevent the new Scandinavian wave, as represented by NELSON (S – TM) , 6th, HOGBERG (S – KTM), 8th, orPOHJOLA (SF – Husqvarna) , 9th, to smile again after a decade of famine .

Steering the Basque Country!

With more than two minutes ahead that Jack EDMONDSON (GB – KTM) takes all in FIM Youth Cup 125cc against the talented Swedish Joakim GRELSON (KTM) newcomer to the World and Lee SEALEY (GB – Yamaha) while it noted the severe drop at the end of the second round of Jean Baptiste NICOLOT (F – Yamaha) , while second and statement sounded better and to whom we wish a very good and fast recovery!

Laia SANZ (ESP – KTM) was finally imposed on the women! But it was not without difficulty because she also had to cross the “iron” with Germany’s Maria FRANKE (D – KTM) who was fastest in the Cross Test and glean his first bouquet as soon as it progresses in the Extreme test. Jane DANIELS (GB – Husqvarna) has long given a headache to Laia but a worn tire (not changed the day before) was much handicapped in the last round. She finished third behind Maria FRANKE but she keeps “firmly” the head of the Championship before the Spanish Grand Prix …

For tenors of EnduroGP hardly have time to breathe … In fact in less than two weeks looms the “formidable” Grand Prix AMV Seguros of Euzkadi that one looks very strong with a time control at the old in “icing on the cake”! After doubled to HOLCOMBE , category EnduroGP therefore continued to distill us an incredible show and nothing is played for the supreme title with the trioPHILLIPS , Remes , HOLCOMBE figurehead … Or how the European brands Sherco, TM and Beta are racing ahead of a category they have yet fought “fiercely”. Or the nice snook sport to business and strategy!
