Mario Roman won this year’s Battle of Vikings with a wide margin. Joakim Ljunggren came second and Magnus Thor rolled in as three. All riders seemed pleased with their positions in the toughest battle ever – only 35 riders came a lap or more. 100 riders did not get around within the respite time.
Mario Roman, I’m very pleased with the course, I did not have a sad moment on this varied course, Mario Roman comments his victory. You have really done a great job. I will be happy to return and win again next year.
Joakim Ljunggren was pleased with his second place. I feel very satisfied Mario is still a factory rider. On the first part of the track I struggled and wondered if I might be a bit too early after the crash. But then the flow came and it rolled quite well.
Magnus Thor got on the podium for the first time in Battle of Vikings, he looked tired after the race but was very pleased. His got to get the last meters in Joutunheim’s wall and it took time. Mario and Joakim also helped the last meters in this hill where most riders made countless attempts to come up.
