Other races in the cup runs in England, Portugal and Romania. For 2016, we expect to attract 160 riders and get well over 3,000 spectators.
Pros and amateurs The harsh terrain of Örebro’s alpine center Storstenshöjden attracts both the elite as tough amateurs. Jonny Walker and Joakim Ljunggren are two of the winners over the years, but it have also been occasions when top riders has given up in the extreme terrain. An important factor is that riders are not allowed to receive outside assistance, but they may help each other. The friendships that occur when riders are no longer competing against each other, but it is the track thats needs to be be overcome is one of the pillars of extreme enduro and what makes it extra fun for the audience.
The Track Battle of Vikings starts with a prologue on Friday and the main event on Saturday. The race is 4 hours + 1 hour respite, and the rider who runs the most laps is the winner. The track is about 10 km long, with numerous obstacles and very few places for riers to rest on. It offers man made obstacles, logs and tire stacks in the extreme parks, while the forest sets up with heaps of stones, fallen trees, up and down hills, including the Black piste in Storstenshöjden. A hill so steep and rocky that the best in the world will have problems getting up and for the ordinary mortals, it can be an impossible task without help.
