Exciting Start to EnduroGP Portugal

The Escuderia Castelo Branco has made a great job for this opening test of the Polisport GP of Portugal. The Moto Club of Helder ESTEVES offered to the EnduroGP stars maybe the most beautiful Super Test Akrapovic of the season, situated in the city center, nicely drawn, with stands and VIP tent… Around 5 000 spectators were present to award the good job of this Moto Club.

And we had the chance to watch exciting duel in every categories. It’s Loïc LARRIEU (F – Yamaha) who wins his first Super Test of the season with a time of 1’18’’76. He beats the Brit Nathan WATSON (KTM – 1’18’’95) for just 19 tenths… They will be the only one to be under 1 minute 19. Indeed, Mathias BELLINO (F – Husqvarna) is the last guy of the Top 3 in 1’19’’25 while Alex SALVINI (I – Beta), 4th, has to let the lead for the 1 500€ check offered by Akrapovic Exhaust to WATSON!

Once again, we just have three Enduro 2 rider in the Top 10 with Josep GARCIA (E – KTM), 5th, Jamie MCCANNEY (GB – Yamaha), 7th, and Daniel SANDERS (AUS – KTM), 10th. Note also the first points scored by a Junior in the Award as Mikael PERSSON (S – Yamaha), signed the 9th best time. He wins his class over Brad FREEMAN (GB – Beta) and Davide SORECA (I – Honda) while Andrea VERONA (I – TM) topped the best spot once again in FIM Youth 125cc. Ruy BARBOSA (CL – Husqvarna) finishes 2nd and Emil JONSSON (S – Yamaha) 3rd.

While this nice evening ended with a firework offered by the Escuderia Castelo Branco, the Akrapovic Super Test is getting tighter with four riders in just 7 points: Nathan WATSON, Alex SALVINI, Loïc LARRIEU and Josep GARCIA. With just one Super Test remaining in Zschopau, Germany for the final, everything is still possible. But for now, rendezvous tomorrow at 8.00 for the start of this Day 1 of the Polisport GP of Portugal.
