Viña del Mar on the glorious Pacific coast of Chile welcomed almost four hundred and fifty riders from more than twenty-five countries for a typically celebratory opening ceremony of the FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE).

The ninety-third edition of Enduro’s grandest team event officially began on Saturday afternoon along the Viña del Mar beach in front of a huge crowd of Chilean supporters, teams, friends and families.
With all the bikes safely checked into the parc ferme and ready for action on Monday, the opening ceremony was a chance for the riders to make some noise and get themselves into the ISDE spirit.
If there was a prize for the most noise, then surely the host nation’s team Chile would be on top of that podium!
Traditionally the opening ceremony is also the last chance to parade hard-fought trophies from the previous ISDE edition. That included the French World and Junior Trophy Teams who were triumphant on home soil in Brive, 2017.
The six times victorious Australian Women’s Trophy Team, one of nine Women’s team competing in Chile, also handed back their prize silverware, which they will be keen to retain in just over one week’s time.
The ninety-third FIM ISDE officially starts tomorrow, Monday 12 November, when competitors will take on two hundred and eighty-nine kilometres of riding during the opening day.
