Alfredo Gómez compited 3 races injuried achieving TOP 4
The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory rider has fought against a serious injury at the elbow during all the month of January. Gómez dislocated the elbow at German GP and doctors gave him two months of recovery. However, the Spanish has raced with a lot of pain and obtained good results. Such as P3 at Spanish GP, P2 in the pre-season extreme Basella Race 1 and P4 at Hungarian GP of this weekend.
“I have made a ‘express’ recovery to race in Madrid, Basella and Budapest. Doctors and my physio adviced me to stop because of the elbow injury. But there was not a complete breakage of ligaments so that´s why I continue with the season. Unfortunately, I did not train before these three races”, said Alfredo.
“In spite of the injury, I was P3 in the GP of my city (Madrid) so I had extra motivation for the other challenges. At Basella Race 1, I put a soft rythm cause I could not attack and the strategy was good. Finally, this weekend my decision was to be regular with ‘zero crashes’ and follow the three top riders. This situation makes me give the 120% because I cannot use the clutch”.
