EXCELLENT EDMONDS WINS ENDUROCROSS

EXCELLENT EDMONDS WINS ENDUROCROSS

Stuart Edmonds (Electraction CCM TM) was in fine form at last night’s HTM Off Road EnduroCross in Glenarm, taking overall victory in the Premier Class ahead of Jordan Scott (HTM Off Road Husqvarna).

t was however Jordan Scott who got off to a fantastic start on the night, riding a faultless opening race to take the win in race one ahead of chasing Edmonds who crashed over the gnarly rock section at half distance, but still managed to hold on for second place.

In race two Edmonds looked more focused as he adapted to track conditions and started to chase down Scott. The pair locked in a fierce battle which Edmonds eventually won by a small margin, taking it down to a ‘winner takes all’ final race of the evening.

Unfortunately the final race wasn’t the epic contest we were all hoping for as Scott crashed early and ended up buried in the pack, paving the way for Edmond’s a well-earned overall Premier Endurocross Class win. Scott remounted and got back to third in race three which gave him a good enough points tally for second overall while Harold Crawford, was third.

Moneyrea man Crawford, also raced in the Veteran class and took home another trophy for his efforts, this time with over 50 category win engraving on the name plate. James Breslin won the over 45s while over 40 winner was Fergus Gilmartin.

Clubman A arguably provided the most entertainment of the night with ‘motocrossers’ Cameron Turley and Paul Atkinson trying to get the better of enduro man Neil Moore. The trio swapped places countless times, used every bit of the course and went sideways more times than enough but it was Moore who came out on top with Turley second and Atkinson rounding out the top three.

Gareth Hoare on his Hilltop Vending KTM won the Clubman B with three wins from three starts ahead of Rick Gilpin who finished just two points ahead of Ian Scott in third.

All in all it was a fantastic night of racing at The Dalriada Festival in Glenarm, promoted by Carrickfergus & District Motorcycle Club in association with HTM Off Road.
